This fall, Illinois residents will have the opportunity to safely dispose of unused household chemicals and hazardous products through ten one-day collection events organized by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA).
In a statement released on the official Illinois government website, the IEPA emphasized the importance of these events for public safety and environmental protection. "Safely disposing of household hazardous waste is crucial for maintaining a healthy environment and preventing potential hazards in our communities," said an IEPA spokesperson.
The Caucus Blog of the Illinois House Republicans also highlighted these statewide events, noting their significance in reducing environmental risks associated with improper disposal of hazardous materials.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of these collection events to ensure that harmful substances do not end up in landfills or water systems.
