NORMAL, Ill. – Two-time Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Coach of the Year Breanne Hall has secured a contract extension to remain the Redbirds' head coach through the 2026-27 season, ISU Interim Director of Athletics Dr. Jeri Beggs announced on Wednesday.

Hall has led the Redbirds to two MVC Championships over the past three seasons, including in 2023-24 when the Redbirds claimed the title by a dozen strokes with the third-lowest Championship team score in MVC history. The team also won the title in 2022, and both victories earned Hall an MVC Coach of the Year award.

"I am honored and thankful for the opportunity to continue leading the women's golf program at Illinois State," said Hall. "I would like to thank Dr. Beggs and Paul Kabbes for their belief in me and this team. This contract extension is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my players. I am excited to continue building on our successes and am committed to pushing our program to new heights."

Since joining the Redbirds for the 2018-19 golf season, Hall has guided them to four individual tournament victories, while nine of the ten lowest team tournament scores in program history have occurred under her leadership. Additionally, ten of the eleven lowest single-round scores have come since 2021.

"The women's golf program at Illinois State has been on the rise, highlighted by two conference championships over the last three years under Bre's leadership," said ISU Interim Director of Athletics Dr. Jeri Beggs. "Coach Hall has built an incredible program during her time with the Redbirds and is a tremendous leader. She has created a culture of success on and off the course, and I have no doubt that the program will continue to grow under her guidance."

The team's 297.4 stroke per round average in 2023-24 broke its previous record by over six strokes per round, with individual golfers achieving 35 rounds at or under par – thirteen more than any prior school record set during Hall's tenure. Overall, five lowest scoring averages and three highest number of season rounds at or under par in program history have been achieved with Hall as head coach.

Under her guidance, two MVC Golfers of Year – Ali Schrock and Jinyoung Yun – one Newcomer of Year, and eleven All-MVC honorees have emerged from Illinois State's women's golf program.

Coach Hall and her team train at Weibring Golf Club and Mounier Golf Training Facility, considered among top facilities within MVC.
