The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team secured a fourth-place finish at the Folds of Honor Challenge held at The Meadows Golf Club in Allendale, Michigan. The tournament concluded on Tuesday, September 17, with IWU posting its best score of the three-day event in the final round, a 287, culminating in an overall score of 871.
Grand Valley State, the event host, claimed the team title with a total score of 862. Aurora finished second with 864, and Mississippi Gulf Coast rounded out the top three with a score of 868.
Illinois Wesleyan's performance was bolstered by four Titans who placed in the top-20 individually. Junior Michael Spitzer from Hinsdale, Illinois led the team with a third-place finish, carding a three-under-par 68 to end even for the tournament at 213. Juney Bai from Mokena, Illinois tied for sixth place with a score of 216.
Senior Quinn Clifford from Chicago recorded his best round of the event with an even-par 71 to tie for 12th place at 220. Fellow senior Griffin Pohl from Western Springs tied for 19th place with a final tally of 224.
The Green and White will next compete in the NCAA Division III Preview from September 21-23 at Irodequant Country Club, which is set to host the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championship.
