ST. LOUIS, Mo. - On the second day of the three-day Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional in St. Louis, hosted by Washington University in St. Louis, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team concluded its participation in the consolation brackets, marking the end of their fall portion of the 2024-25 season.
Juniors Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter Academy) and Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) ended their doubles campaign with a loss to Cole Shifferly and Tharakesh Ashokar from Wabash College, 8-4, in the consolation round of 16.
In singles action, Vigneri secured an 8-0 victory against Aaron Heinlein from Franciscan University of Steubenville in the consolation round of 32. However, his run came to an end after an 8-3 defeat by Gabriel Luna from Augustana College.
The Titans will resume competition after the new year with a full schedule of dual matches.
