In a rain-shortened opening day of the Johnie Imes Invitational, the Illinois State women's golf team, led by Jinyoung Yun who shot a two-over 74, is tied for fifth place after the first day of the 36-hole tournament.
The round began at 8 a.m. but was paused after a few shots and resumed at noon. Due to this delay, the tournament was reduced from a 54-hole event to just 36 holes – with 18 holes on each of the tournament's two days.
Florida Gulf Coast leads with a one-under 287, followed by Bradley (295), Missouri (298), and Austin Peay (298). The Redbirds' score of 300 places them halfway through the tournament.
