The Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) has released its 2024-25 preseason rankings for swimming and diving. Illinois State University (ISU) has been placed fourth in the nine-team league.

The ISU Swim & Dive team will see the return of several veteran athletes, including seniors Emma Feltzer and Mia Snow. Last season, Feltzer secured the MVC Championship in the 100 free with a school record time of 49.33 seconds. She also finished third in the 50 free with a time of 22.95 seconds, which is the second-fastest in school history. Snow earned MVC All-Conference Honors and ranks second in school history for the 100 fly with a time of 25.64 seconds.

First-year head coach Riley Hilbrandt expressed optimism about the upcoming season: "Being ranked fourth in this year's preseason poll shows the consistency that ISU Swim & Dive has always had. For this season, consistency day in and day out is a huge focus and mindset we have." Hilbrandt added, "I'm excited to begin racing against great competition and to be a part of a competitive conference such as The Valley."

The Redbirds will commence their season on October 4th by hosting Indiana State at Horton Pool at 2 pm.
