The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team is preparing for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship. The tournament will take place from October 3-5 at Metamora Fields Golf Course in Metamora, Illinois. This year marks the team's pursuit of a third consecutive league championship.

The pre-championship poll released by the conference office on October 2 ranked Illinois Wesleyan as the top team out of nine, with eight first-place votes and a total of 64 points. Elmhurst, which received one first-place vote, followed in second place with 48 points. Augustana came in third with 47 points, Carthage was fourth with 43 points, and North Central rounded out the top five with 37 points. Millikin was sixth with 29 points, Carroll seventh with 22 points, while North Park and Wheaton tied for eighth place each earning 17 points.

The Illinois Wesleyan squad includes seniors Macy Ludwig, Jacque O'Neill, Jadyn Spinks, Kylie Hundman; sophomore Nora Cerroni; and freshman Gigi Zera. Cerroni and Zera are set to make their CCIW Championship debuts this week.

Last season, Illinois Wesleyan secured the CCIW Championship by a record margin of 56 strokes. Five team members received all-conference honors as Emma Thorman, Jadyn Spinks, and Lexi Onsrud occupied the top three spots on the player leaderboard. The team achieved a conference record three-day score of 886.

Tee times for this year's championship begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, October 3. IWU will compete alongside teams from Augustana and Elmhurst. Live scoring will be available through Clippd's Scoreboard service.
