Illinois State University's redshirt junior, TJ Barger, has been honored as the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for the second time this fall. This recognition follows his performance at the 2024 Badger Invitational.

Barger's efforts contributed to Illinois State University (ISU) tying for fourth place in the event hosted by the University of Wisconsin. He placed fourth individually, achieving under-par scores in each round: a three-under 69, a two-under 70, and a one-under 71. His total score of 209 marks a career-low and is tied for the 24th-lowest tournament score in ISU's history.

This season, Barger has participated in all four tournaments for ISU. Over twelve rounds, he leads his team with an average stroke of 72.6. He has achieved scores at or below par in five out of these twelve rounds and holds a career average of 72.8 strokes per round.

Following three consecutive weekends of competition, ISU will take a break before returning on Monday, October 21st. The team will compete at the Leadership and Golf Collegiate Championship at Bayonet Black Horse Golf Club in Monterey, California.
