Sophomore Aniya Seymore scored her first career goal in the 86th minute to secure a 1-1 draw for Illinois State against Murray State on Sunday. The match, held in Murray, Kentucky, saw Illinois State come from behind for the second time this week after trailing Valparaiso and achieving a 2-1 victory at home.

The equalizing goal came from a corner kick delivered by Erika Wells, marking her third assist over two games. Seymore's header found the top right corner of the net. Wells is noted as the first Redbird since 2022 to record three assists across two games.

Illinois State responded with a goal in the 48th minute after a scoreless first half. Madi Valenti contributed significantly with four first-half saves and concluded the game with a career-high eight saves.

Seymore is one of several Redbirds to achieve their first career goals this season, joining freshmen Chloe Cline, Eve Gricius, Eiley Henderson, and redshirt sophomore Sammi Cenek.

Illinois State will next host Indiana State on Sunday at Adelaide Street Field, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
