A day of football and family activities is planned for Saturday, April 13, at Hancock Stadium in Normal, Illinois. The event will culminate with the annual Spring Showcase scrimmage featuring the Illinois State University (ISU) Redbirds.

The day kicks off with the Kids Football Fest on the stadium's turf, starting at 10:45 a.m. The event is free and open to children aged 12 and under, with adult supervision required. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., coinciding with the opening of the stadium gates. A safety waiver must be completed by participants, either in advance or upon arrival.

Activities for children include various football-related stations such as catching with quarterbacks, field goal kicking, throwing accuracy, tackling drills, and an obstacle course. Head football coach Brock Spack will be present to engage with participants and discuss the benefits of staying active through sports. Children can also dress up as Redbird players and take photos with ISU cheerleaders and Reggie Redbird.

Concession stands on Hancock Stadium's East concourse will be open from 10:30 a.m., and parking is complimentary in nearby lots. Those not attending the Kids Football Fest can enter the stadium at noon to watch the scrimmage.

Football season ticket renewals are available online at GoRedbirds.com/tickets or by calling (309) 438-8000. A table will also be set up on the concourse during the scrimmage for further inquiries.

The Spring Showcase scrimmage starts at 1 p.m., broadcast live on WJBC AM 1230 from 12:30 p.m., featuring John Fitzgerald, Ted Schmitz, and Craig Bertsche. The game consists of four quarters with a running clock; teams are divided into red and white squads based on their positions in first or second team units. During halftime, ISU alumni will be acknowledged on-field while the Big Red Marching Machine performs.

Post-scrimmage activities include a softball game between ISU's team and Missouri Valley Conference opponent Valparaiso at Marian Kneer Stadium starting at 2 p.m.
