The Illinois State men's golf team is set to participate in the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City as their final preparation before the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships. The event, hosted by the University of Iowa, will take place from April 13 to April 14 at Finkbine Golf Club.

The participating teams include Kansas, Illinois State, Wisconsin, TCU, Iowa, Central Arkansas, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, UMKC, Creighton, Wichita State, South Dakota State, Missouri State, Drake, and Murray State. The Redbirds' lineup features Valentin Peugnet, Alex McCulla, Felix van Dijk, TJ Barger, and Will Troy. Parker Wisdom will compete individually.

Finkbine Golf Course is an 18-hole public course that spans over 200 acres of rolling terrain. It is known for its Bentgrass greens and tees and a signature par-3 hole with a double green requiring a tee shot over water. The course is owned by the University of Iowa Athletic Department and managed by Troon Golf.

This marks the third time the Redbirds have competed in this spring event hosted by the University of Iowa. In the 2021-22 season at this event, Joe Hodgson tied for 15th place with a score of two-over 218. Current team members Felix van Dijk (tied for 35th), Alex McCulla (tied for 50th), and Valentin Peugnet (tied for 50th) also participated during that season.
