The Illinois State women's tennis team is approaching the end of their regular season, aiming to maintain their strong position in the Missouri Valley Conference standings. The Redbirds will travel to Iowa for two matches this weekend, facing UNI on Saturday in Cedar Falls and Drake on Sunday in Des Moines.

Currently tied for second place with a 4-1 conference record, the Redbirds (13-6) are just behind Murray State. The team recently secured a win against Bradley and hopes to continue their winning streak. Senior Tijana Zlatanovic has been recognized twice as the Missouri Valley Conference Singles Player of the Week and, alongside Lana Caculovic, was honored as MVC Doubles Team of the Week.

UNI is looking for its first conference win after six consecutive losses. With an overall record of 3-13 and a 0-5 mark in MVC play, they hope to capitalize on home advantage during their final matches of the season. Darta Dalecka leads UNI in singles play with a 13-15 record.

Drake holds a 7-10 overall record and shares fourth place in the conference standings with Belmont. Last weekend, Drake split their matches against Missouri State and Murray State. Senior Ines Stephani leads Drake's singles lineup and partners with Rebecca Ehn in doubles.

Illinois State fans can follow these matches through GoRedbirds.com or via the Illinois State Redbirds App for more information about tickets, merchandise, and other resources.
