Illinois State Athletics is set to host the first ANNIKA Women's All Pro Tour (WAPT) event in the Twin Cities. The Redbird Championship will take place at Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University from June 18-20 in Normal.

The tournament will feature a Pro-Am Day on June 17, followed by a three-day, 54-hole competition starting on June 18. Ninety ANNIKA WAPT professionals and 36 Collegiate Series players are expected to participate. The top two players in the open field will earn an exemption into the Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic scheduled for August 9-11 on the LPGA Epson Tour. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the ANNIKA Foundation, ANNIKA WAPT, and Redbird Athletics.

The Pro-Am event on June 17 offers participants a chance to meet and play with future LPGA stars. It begins at 1 p.m. at Weibring Golf Club, with each team consisting of an ANNIKA WAPT professional and three amateurs. The cost for participating is $1,000 per team, with proceeds shared equally between the Annika Foundation and Weibring Golf Club. Each sponsorship includes three tournament gift packages and six invitations to a Welcome Party.

Community members can also volunteer or host players during their stay in Bloomington-Normal. Private housing provides essential support to athletes by reducing their weekly expenses while offering them a comfortable environment.
