Sophomore Cole Shamhart and senior Louis Perona from Illinois Wesleyan University's baseball team have been recognized with All-Region 8 honors. The announcement was made on Tuesday, May 28.

Shamhart received the All-Region 8 Second Team honor from both D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Perona was named to the ABCA All-Region 8 Third Team.

Shamhart, a First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection, ranked fourth in conference ERA. He followed teammates Dalen Banks and Will Davidsmeier, as well as Caleb Burhle from Millikin University, who was named D3baseball.com Region 8 Pitcher of the Year. Shamhart achieved an 8-0 record this season over 12 games, starting in 11. He pitched for a total of 63.2 innings with an opponent batting average of .267 and recorded a team-high of 67 strikeouts.

Perona earned Second Team All-CCIW recognition and is familiar with All-Region accolades after receiving similar honors last year from both D3Baseball.com and ABCA. As the Titans' starting center fielder and leadoff hitter, he maintained a .368 hitting percentage this season. His statistics include 136 at-bats, scoring 37 runs with 50 hits, including 11 doubles, two triples, three home runs, and achieving 11 RBIs.

Shamhart was among the fifteen CCIW players selected by D3baseball.com across seven schools. Both Shamhart and Perona were part of twelve conference players honored by the ABCA from seven schools. Millikin University and North Park University each had four players on these lists.
