Illinois Wesleyan University's men's basketball team has three players who have been recognized by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) as Academic All-District selections. The announcement was made on Tuesday, March 26. Senior Ryan Sroka, junior Trey Bazzell, and sophomore Karlo Colak are the student-athletes honored for their academic achievements.
Ryan Sroka, a senior from Lake in the Hills, Illinois, is one of the team's captains. He played in all 27 games this season, averaging 9.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. His performance included highs of 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Trey Bazzell from Fairbury, Illinois earned this recognition for the first time. He also participated in all 27 games and started four times. Bazzell led his team with 28 three-pointers during the season and averaged 4.8 points per game. His standout game came against Millikin on January 10 where he scored a career-high of 15 points.
Karlo Colak from Glencoe, Illinois emerged as a significant player off the bench in his second year with the team. He appeared in 25 games with four starts and averaged 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.
These players contributed to Illinois Wesleyan University securing the CCIW Regular Season Championship title with an overall record of 19-8.
