The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team, ranked fourth nationally, is set to host the IWU Invitational this weekend. The tournament will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 5-6, at Ironwood Golf Course and Weibring Golf Course in Bloomington, Illinois. On Friday, IWU's teams will compete at Ironwood, while Saturday's rounds will be held at Weibring.
The invitational will feature a total of 37 teams. Among them are No. 8 Bethel, No. 10 Aurora, No. 12 St. John's, and No. 21 UW-Eau Claire. Other participating schools include Augustana, Calvin, Carroll, Carthage, Central College (Iowa), Concordia College (Minnesota), DePauw University (Indiana), Edgewood College (Wisconsin), Fontbonne University (Missouri), Gustavus Adolphus College (Minnesota), Heartland Community College (Illinois), Hope College (Michigan), Illinois College, Knox College (Illinois), Lake Forest College (Illinois), Millikin University (Illinois), Nebraska Wesleyan University, North Central College (Illinois), North Park University (Illinois), St. Francis University (Pennsylvania), Simpson College (Iowa), Trine University (Indiana), Wabash College (Indiana), Wheaton College (Illinois) and UW-Stout.
IWU plans to field three teams alongside three individual players for the event. The 'A' team includes senior Bobby Beaubien from Barrington; juniors Quinn Clifford from Chicago and Griffin Pohl from Western Springs; sophomores Juney Bai from Mokena and Michael Spitzer from Hinsdale.
The 'B' team comprises Raj Sethi from Chandler; Jackson Hulsey from St. Charles; Aidan Healy from New Lenox; Myles Lahart from Park Ridge; Wade Schacht from Champaign.
Competing for the 'C' team are Tyler Irwin from Arlington Heights; Jack Bruening from Belleville; Josh Pehl from Sugar Grove; Nate Bibbey from Oak Park; Drew Rogers from Sullivan.
Individual competitors include Griffin Hrabak of Medina in Ohio as well as Quinn Ross and Quinn Henry both hailing out of Chicago suburbs Homewood-Flossmoor respectively
Live scoring for this event can be accessed through Golfstat starting with a shotgun start scheduled at half-past noon on Friday.
