Illinois Wesleyan competes in Cochran Collegiate as top-ranked teams remain unchanged

The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team, ranked fourth in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll, is set to compete in the Cochran Collegiate tournament. The event will take place at Colonial Country Club in Memphis, Tennessee, from April 15-16. The competition will feature 54 holes on a par-72 course spanning 7,133 yards.

The latest poll released on April 12 showed no changes in the top five rankings. Methodist University leads with 15 first-place votes and a total of 399 points. Emory University holds second place, followed by Oglethorpe University in third. Illinois Wesleyan maintains its position at fourth, with Carnegie Mellon completing the top five.

Representing Illinois Wesleyan are Bobby Beaubien from Barrington, juniors Quinn Clifford and Griffin Pohl from Chicago and Western Springs respectively, and sophomores Michael Spitzer and Juney Bai from Hinsdale and Mokena.

The tournament is hosted by Rhodes College, which ranks 24th nationally. Other participants include No. 18 Babson College along with Berry College, Birmingham Southern College, Greensboro College, Gustavus Adolphus College, Piedmont University, No. 9 Sewanee: The University of the South, Wabash College, and Webster University.

Competition begins with two rounds on Monday followed by one round on Tuesday. Golfstat will provide live results for those interested in following the event's progress.

Other notable teams include Lynchburg at sixth place with Washington & Lee following closely behind. Huntingdon occupies eighth position while Sewanee sits ninth.
