Illinois Wesleyan starts strong at Folds of Honor Challenge

The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team, ranked fifth nationally, began its participation in the Folds of Honor Challenge on Sunday, September 15. The event took place at The Meadows in Allendale, Michigan. After the first round, the team posted a score of 12-over-par 296, placing them fourth among ten teams.

Junior Juney Bai from Mokena, Illinois led the Titans with an even-par score of 71. Bai is tied for fifth place individually after one round. Senior Quinn Clifford from Chicago and juniors Michael Spitzer from Hinsdale and Aidan Healy from New Lenox are also in the top-20 standings. Clifford scored a three-over-par 74 to secure the 15th position, while Spitzer's score of 75 placed him at 16th. Healy finished with a five-over-par 76 and holds the 19th spot.

Aurora University leads the tournament with a one-over-par score of 285. Mississippi Gulf Coast and West Texas A&M follow in second and third positions respectively. Grand Valley State trails closely behind Illinois Wesleyan in fifth place with a score of 297.

The competition will continue with the second round scheduled for Monday, September 16. Live scoring updates will be available through Clippd.
