In Decatur, Illinois, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team secured a victory at the Take Back the Night Challenge on April 20. The team achieved a final round score of 283 at the South Side Country Club course, finishing with a total of 570 for the weekend.
Griffin Pohl and Juney Bai both tied for second place. Pohl scored a two-under 69, while Bai recorded a one-under 70, each ending with a 36-hole score of 141.
Quinn Clifford tied for eighth place with a three-over 74 to complete with a score of 147. Bobby Beaubien tied for 11th, and Michael Spitzer shared the 14th position. Spitzer's one-under 70 helped him climb significantly on the leaderboard to secure a top-15 finish.
Illinois Wesleyan won by ten strokes over Parkland, who finished in second place. Nebraska Wesleyan took third place with a score of 585, followed by Carthage and Central in fourth and fifth places respectively. Marcos Park from Parkland was awarded medalist honors with his score of 139. Illinois Wesleyan's 'B' team ended up tying for sixth place.
The Titans are set to participate next in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship from May 2-4 in Peoria, Illinois at WeaverRidge Golf Club.
