The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team is set to travel to Maine for a series of matches on October 20-21. The Titans, currently holding an 8-12 record, will first compete against Bowdoin College on Friday, October 20 at 4:30 p.m. ET in Brunswick. They will then proceed to Waterville for the Colby College Tournament on Saturday, October 21, where they will face Colby College at 11 a.m. ET and Endicott College at 1 p.m. ET.
Recently, Illinois Wesleyan secured a victory over Elmhurst University in a five-set match on Tuesday night, October 17. Sophomore Taylor French from Romeoville had an impressive performance with a career-high of 27 kills and set a program record with 33.5 points. Senior Jordan Pierce contributed significantly with 26 assists and achieved a double-double by adding 12 digs.
Taylor French stands out nationally as one of the top offensive players, ranking fifth in kills (358) and points (405.8). Senior Lily Summers and junior Morgan Harrington follow her lead with notable contributions in kills this season.
Freshman Sophia Feeney leads the team in assists with Pierce following closely behind. On defense, Faith Washko leads the team with digs while Eleanor Palmer excels at net defense with total blocks.
Illinois Wesleyan's upcoming match against Bowdoin marks their second encounter since their last meeting in October 2016 when Tyler Brown led them to victory. This weekend's matches also include first-time opponents Colby College and Endicott College who they previously defeated back in October 2008.
