Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse player Britney Maldonado has been selected to participate in the 2024 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Star Game. The announcement was made by the organization on May 29, 2024. Maldonado will join the Division III North Team for the game scheduled to take place at Tierney Field, USA Lacrosse Headquarters, on June 1, starting at 2 p.m. ET.
Maldonado concluded her collegiate career with notable achievements for Illinois Wesleyan's Green and White team. Her performance included earning First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors. She led nationally with an average of 7.29 assists per game and tied for the most assists in Division III with a total of 77, breaking the program's single-season assist record. Additionally, she accumulated 124 points over the season, ranking fourth nationally and setting another program record.
During her time with the Titans, Maldonado received five CCIW Offensive Player of the Week awards and one IWLCA National Player of the Week honor in 2023. She ended her college career as one of Illinois Wesleyan's top performers with a total of 229 points, placing third in program history.
In the upcoming All-Star Game, Heather McKay from Messiah University will coach Maldonado and other players from various institutions including Denison University, SUNY Canton, Stevens Institute of Technology, among others. Notably, Maldonado is the only representative from CCIW participating in this event.
The Division III All-Star Game will be part of a series featuring games from all three NCAA divisions. The day begins with Division I at 10 a.m., followed by Division II at noon before concluding with Division III.
