Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse players earn spots on All-CCIW teams

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team has seen three of its players recognized on the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) teams for the 2024 season. The announcement was made by the league office on Tuesday, April 30.

Senior Britney Maldonado and sophomore Sarah Riepe have been named to the All-CCIW First Team. Sophomore Devon Hanson earned a spot on the Second Team All-CCIW. Additionally, senior Hannah Trousdale received IWU's CCIW RESPECT Award.

Maldonado, who was previously on the Second Team last season, led her team in scoring with 40 points from 14 goals and 26 assists over six CCIW games. She ranks second in the conference for points, points per game (6.67), assists, and assists per game (4.33). Her shooting efficiency stands at 60.9 percent in CCIW play. Throughout this season, she broke records for single-season points and assists.

Riepe is recognized for her defensive prowess with her first conference honor this year. She led the conference with 22 caused turnovers at an average of 3.67 per game and tied for most ground balls with an average of 3.50 per game.

Hanson secured her second consecutive Second Team All-CCIW honor as a midfielder. She ranked in the top ten for ground balls, draw controls, and caused turnovers during league play alongside Carroll's Grace Tumilty and Samantha Hurd.

The Titans are set to compete in the CCIW Tournament Semifinals against Carthage College on Wednesday night, May 1.
