The Illinois State volleyball team is preparing to host two matches this weekend at CEFCU Arena, facing Indiana State on Friday and Evansville on Saturday. The Redbirds are returning home after securing three consecutive wins in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC).

Friday's game against Indiana State is themed as a "White Out," encouraging fans to wear white. The match begins at 6:00 p.m. CT. The following day, the Redbirds will play against Evansville at the same time, following the ISU Football team's White Out game against Missouri State.

Illinois State junior Aida Shadewald currently ranks second in the MVC with 250 kills, trailing only Evansville's Giula Cardona. Shadewald also stands out with her 693 total attacks, placing her 16th nationally, and she is the only player in the MVC with 30 service aces.

Senior setter Mekaila Aupiu has made a significant impact since joining Illinois State before the 2024 season. She is among only 15 Division I players who have achieved over 600 assists this season, ranking second nationally with a total of 680 assists.

Illinois State leads the MVC in team kills and assists and ranks within the top ten in NCAA Division I for these categories. Additionally, they are among the top fifteen for team digs and total attacks.

Recently, Aida Shadewald was named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, while freshman Khenedi Guest received Freshman of the Week honors for their performances last weekend against Missouri State and Southern Illinois.
