Illinois State men's tennis team earns wins at ITA Midwest Regionals

The Illinois State men's tennis team secured two singles victories and one doubles win on the second day of the ITA Midwest Regionals at Michigan State University.

Adrian Dibildox began the day with a straight-sets victory over Magimay from the University of Notre Dame, winning 6-3, 6-0. Jett Leong progressed in the consolation bracket after being awarded a win against Youngstown State.

In doubles competition, Tomas Valencia and Caden Scarlett achieved a narrow victory for the Redbirds, defeating Cleveland State University's Aremon and Chappell with an 8-7 scoreline.

The results in singles included Mikovic from UIC defeating Valencia from ISU 7-6, 6-3. Dibildox won against Magimay (ND) 6-3, 6-0. In consolation play, Leong defeated Avdeev (YSU) due to injury retirement.

In doubles matches, Valencia and Scarlett's win was followed by a loss to Sheldon and Forbes from MSU with an 8-2 score. Moser and Torres Almeida from DU won against Bevan and Leong due to withdrawal caused by injury. Knezevic and Dapcevic from UIC defeated Dibildox and Ostro with an 8-6 result.

The third day of action at the ITA Midwest Regionals is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the MSU Tennis Center.
