Illinois State University's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to three games with a 3-1 victory over Indiana State at Adelaide Street Field. The Redbirds, now with a record of 4-7-3 and 2-2-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), took an early lead with goals from Eiley Henderson and Eve Gricius.
Henderson scored the opening goal in the 10th minute, assisted by Ava Watson's cross. Gricius added to the scoreline in the 36th minute with a header from a cross delivered by Henderson, marking her first career assist.
After halftime, Illinois State's goalkeeper Madi Valenti made a crucial diving save to maintain their lead. Despite Indiana State scoring in the 68th minute, Abby Hall secured the win for Illinois State with her first career goal in the 80th minute, assisted by Wells. This marked Wells' fourth assist over three games.
Wells ranks second in MVC play assists this season. Hall became the sixth Redbird to score her first career goal this season, joining Chloe Cline, Sammi Cenek, Henderson, Gricius, and Aniya Seymore.
The Redbirds will next face Evansville on October 17.
