With one round remaining, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team is tied for eighth place at the Golfweek October Classic. The tournament features 24 teams and is being held on a par-72, 5611-yard course in Sandestin, Florida. On Monday, October 14, IWU recorded a score of 309 for the second day of play.
Sophomores Nora Cerroni and Emily Gastrau delivered strong performances with both scoring three-over 75s. Cerroni's effort placed her in a tie for 24th with a total score of 151 over two rounds, while Gastrau is tied for 32nd with a score of 152.
Senior Jadyn Spinks scored five-over 77 and is currently tied for 14th place with an overall score of 148.
Leading the individual leaderboard is Emory's Zimo Li with a score of 139. WashU's Sydney Kuo follows in second place at 143. As a team, IWU stands tied for eighth with a total score of 610, while Emory leads the tournament at even par with a total score of 576.
