The Illinois State volleyball team is set to play two home matches this weekend. The Redbirds, who are on a six-match winning streak, will face UNI and Drake on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
The match against the Panthers is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m., while the contest with the Bulldogs will start at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Illinois State has shown strong performance in recent games, having lost only six sets during their current winning streak. Freshman Khenedi Guest has been notable for her contribution, hitting .455 in league play with 73 kills.
Junior Aida Shadewald has made significant achievements this season with a league-high of 35 aces, placing her tied for 14th nationally. She ranks ninth overall in total points with 339.5.
Senior setter Mekaila Aupiu leads the league in assists, boasting 795 assists which is the highest in NCAA Division I. She averages 9.58 assists per set and is among five athletes in Division I with over 750 assists this season.
Freshman Khenedi Guest has also received recognition as a three-time MVC Freshman of the Week honoree. Her most recent accolade came after a home sweep against Indiana State and Evansville.
Aida Shadewald is nearing several milestones; she needs only 12 more kills to tie for 24th all-time in career kills at Illinois State. Additionally, she requires four more service aces to enter the program's top-20 list.
