The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team experienced a setback as their eight-match winning streak ended with a loss to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The match, held on Friday night at the Shirk Center, saw the Titans (15-6) defeated by the Pointers (16-6) in four sets with scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-21, and 25-21.

Despite a strong performance from junior Hannah Tellor, who achieved 10 kills and two blocks, Illinois Wesleyan struggled against UWSP's net presence. The Pointers maintained a .279 hitting percentage compared to IWU's .132. They also led in kills and blocks with counts of 49-42 and 6-4 respectively. However, Illinois Wesleyan had an advantage in digs and aces.

Taylor French contributed significantly with seven aces alongside her 11 kills and 13 digs. Sophia Feeney led the team with 21 assists while Jordan Pierce added another 15 assists. Kannyn Boyd recorded a team-high of 16 digs for the Titans.

Illinois Wesleyan initially took control during the match using French's aces to build an early lead. However, UWSP responded strongly with a significant run that turned the tide in their favor during crucial moments of play.

As Illinois Wesleyan prepares for their next game against Augustana College on October 23rd in Rock Island, they aim to regain momentum within the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
