The Illinois State women's golf team is set to conclude its fall season at the Clash at Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nevada. This marks the second time the Redbirds have participated in this event, following a successful performance last year where they finished fifth among 19 schools and set several school records.
The tournament will take place from October 20-22 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club, featuring a par-72 course with a yardage of 6,334. Live scoring for the event will be available through Clippd.
Participants in the tournament include Illinois State, ranked 62nd by Clippd National Rankings, alongside other teams such as Cal State Fullerton (67), San Francisco (68), Boise State (86), and others down to Southern Utah (240).
The lineup for Illinois State includes Elise Fennell starting at hole 7B, Morgan Jones at 7A, Jinyoung Yun at 8, Lory Paradis at 9B, Alex Sparrow at 9A, and Jessica Jolly competing individually starting at hole 17. The Redbirds will begin their rounds alongside UC Riverside and Drake starting at 3:30 p.m. Central Time.
Reflecting on their history in this tournament, last season saw ISU setting records for lowest tournament score (857) and lowest round score (282). Jinyoung Yun tied her own school record for the lowest single-round score of 67 and finished with a total score of 210.
Boulder Creek Golf Club offers three nine-hole courses that can be combined into different configurations. The Desert Hawk/Coyote Run combination presents varied challenges with opportunities for both long drives and short game skills due to its diverse terrain and water hazards.
