Illinois State women’s tennis secures three wins at EIU Panther Invite

The Illinois State Women's Tennis team secured two singles victories and one doubles win on the first day of the EIU Panther Invite at Eastern Illinois University. The matches took place at the Darling Tennis Courts.

In singles, Emma Lindh, Elena Jankulovska, and Nicole Iosio each won their matches in straight sets. Lindh triumphed over Lintz from Purdue Northwest (PNW) with scores of 6-2, 6-3. Jankulovska defeated Lopez from PNW by a 12-1 margin at No. 2. Iosio faced Rasian from PNW and after a competitive first set, she dominated the second set with a 6-1 victory to secure the match.

In doubles play, Emma Lindh and Elena Jankulovska defeated Eastern Illinois' Niculescu and Lomenzo with a score of 6-0. However, Purdue Northwest's Lintz and Rasian narrowly beat Nicole Iosio and Zoe Limparis 6-4 in a closely contested match that went down to the final point.

The EIU Panther Invite will continue on Saturday with further rounds of singles and doubles matches.

The Redbirds are scheduled to return home on November 2 for the two-day Redbird Duals at Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington.
