On the second day of competition in Boulder City, Nevada, Redbird junior Morgan Jones tied the overall school record for the lowest single round in program history. This achievement marks the second time this season that Jones has reached a score of 67. Her performance helped Illinois State University (ISU) move up two places into 12th position with one round remaining.

Jones shares this record with her teammate Jinyoung Yun, who has achieved a score of 67 four times. They are the only two players in ISU's history to have shot under 68.

The team currently holds a 36-hole score of 583. San Francisco leads with an impressive two-round score of 550, followed by Fresno State at 563 and Boise State at 566. Other teams ahead of ISU include Washington State, Drake, UC Riverside, Northern Arizona, South Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Tarleton State, and Cal State Fullerton.

Jessica Jolly leads the Redbirds as an individual competitor. She is tied for 12th place with a two-round total of 140 after consecutive rounds of 70. Jolly began her second round on the 15th hole and recorded birdies on several holes before finishing with bogeys on two out of her last five holes.

Freshman Elise Fennell matched the school freshman scoring record in her first round and returned with an even-par 72 in her second outing. She stands tied for 16th place as she competes to beat Jolly's freshman tournament record set earlier this season.

Morgan Jones follows closely behind after her record-tying performance with a total score of 147 over two rounds. Lory Paradis also scored a combined total of 147 across both rounds.

Jinyoung Yun had back-to-back scores of 74 despite a challenging start but finished strong to sit tied for 55th place heading into the final day.

Alex Sparrow completed his second round with three birdies and nine pars to finish four-over at a cumulative score of 156.

The final round begins tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., where ISU will compete alongside Tarleton State and Cal State Fullerton.
