Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse begins new season against Hope College

The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team is set to begin its 2024 season with an away game against Hope College in Holland, Michigan. The match is scheduled for Saturday, February 17 at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

Head coach Zach Iannucci will lead the Titans into his 11th season. Since their first season in 2014, the team has achieved a record of 125-41, which translates to a .753 winning percentage. In the previous year, Illinois Wesleyan reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament and secured their fifth consecutive College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Regular Season Champion title with a record of 15-4 overall and 6-0 in conference play.

The team welcomes back four of its seven All-CCIW honorees from last year: seniors Michael Campagna from Arlington Heights, Illinois; Gage Black from Peoria, Illinois; Bob Boone from Los Angeles, California; and junior Nick Schroeder from Waunakee, Wisconsin.

Returning top scorers Ike Eastburn from Colorado Springs, Colorado; Trystan Seeley from Castle Rock, Colorado; and Gage Black are expected to continue contributing significantly this season. The team also introduces 12 new players.

Illinois Wesleyan has played against Hope College seven times previously and holds a series lead with six wins to one loss. Their most recent encounter was on March 22, 2023, when they secured a victory with a score of 20-14. In that game, Trystan Seeley and Gage Black were notable contributors with five and four goals respectively.

The upcoming match will commence at 3 p.m. Eastern Time at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. Fans can access live streaming and statistics online.
