The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team ended its 2024 season with a loss to Tufts University in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The match took place on May 11 at Frank Bailey Field, where Tufts defeated IWU with a score of 27-9. This result concludes IWU's season with an overall record of 13-4.

Tufts began the game strongly, scoring three goals in just 45 seconds and prompting an early timeout from IWU. The Jumbos extended their lead further, finishing the first period with an 11-1 advantage. Illinois Wesleyan's sole goal in the first period was assisted by freshman Timothy McHugh to junior Sam Weinberg.

In terms of individual performances, junior Colin Tervo made six saves for IWU, while senior Alex Oximana contributed nine saves during the second half. Weinberg was a standout player for IWU, scoring four points through goals. McHugh and senior Ike Eastburn also made significant contributions, each securing three points; McHugh had one goal and two assists, whereas Eastburn achieved a hat trick.

McHugh led his team in ground balls with six, followed closely by senior Gage Black and junior Sam Skelton, who each had five. Junior John Kittoe excelled defensively with a career-high three caused turnovers.

Despite this defeat marking the end of their current campaign, Illinois Wesleyan plans to return several key players next year. However, this game also marked the conclusion of eight Titans' careers.
