The Illinois Wesleyan University swimming and diving teams opened their College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin dual meet season with a competition against Augustana College on November 11. The Titans achieved six individual victories during the meet.
Junior Carter Dilger was the first to secure a win for the men's team in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 10:28.20. Freshman Jack Hansen followed with a victory in the 200-yard butterfly, clocking in at 2:04.91. Senior Henry Moore also added to the wins by completing the 500-yard freestyle in 4:58.82.
For the women's team, junior Hadley Fudge took first place in both the 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard individual medley, with times of 2:13.55 and 2:21.76 respectively. Fifth-year Lauren Feddersen won her event, securing first place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.10.
Despite these individual successes, IWU's women were outscored by Augustana's Vikings with a score of 208-82, while the men finished with a score of 205-72.
Illinois Wesleyan is set to compete again on November 18 when they host the IWU Invite at Fort Natatorium starting at 1 p.m.
