Freshman Jack Hansen from Illinois Wesleyan University has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Co-Swimmer of the Week. The announcement was made on Tuesday, October 17. This is Hansen's first career weekly accolade and also marks the first for his team this season. He shares the title with Kacper Cebula from Augustana College.
Hansen recently competed in a dual meet against Lewis University on Friday, October 13. During the event, he participated in the men's 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard breaststroke, and the 100-yard butterfly. Hansen placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.31 and finished fifth in both the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 28.79 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly at 56.99 seconds.
This achievement makes Hansen the first member of his team to receive this award since Mason McCauley was honored on January 18, 2022.
The Illinois Wesleyan Titans are set to host their home opener on Saturday, October 28, for the IWU Halloween Invite.
