The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team is set to play two games in Colorado Springs, Colorado, following a nearly two-week break. The team will face the State University of New York-Cortland and Colorado College. Their first game against Cortland is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13 at Washburn Field at 3 p.m. MT.
Illinois Wesleyan enters this spring break trip with a balanced record of 2-2 after their recent victory over Aurora University on March 2, where they won 24-15. Thirteen players contributed to the scoring effort against Aurora. Senior Trystan Seeley led with four goals, while senior Gage Black and junior John Kittoe each scored three goals. Freshman Timothy McHugh led the team with six points from two goals and four assists. Senior Zo Lombardo achieved an impressive 22 out of 30 faceoff wins, and junior Colin Tervo secured the win in goal with three saves in his half-hour of play.
Seniors Seeley, Ethan Hart, Ike Eastburn, and junior Nick Horrocks will return to their home state for these matches against Cortland and Colorado College.
The upcoming match against Cortland marks the first meeting between these teams in program history. Cortland holds a record of 2-1 after recently losing to Cabrini University by one point.
The Titans' second game during this trip will be against Colorado College on Saturday, March 16 at Washburn Field at 1 p.m. MT. Fans can follow both games via live stats and live stream through links provided by the university's sports information channels.
