On March 12, 2024, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team experienced a split in their matches during their spring break trip in Orlando, Florida. The Titans achieved a victory against St. Norbert College with a score of 6-3 but later faced defeat by Hampden-Sydney College, losing 9-0.

The team currently holds a record of 7-3, marking their best start since head coach Sam Totten took charge in fall 2018 and the program's strongest beginning since the 2010-11 season.

In the match against St. Norbert, junior Zeke Cross and sophomore Griffin Hammond secured the only win in doubles for Illinois Wesleyan at No. 2 doubles with an 8-2 victory. The Titans demonstrated strength in singles matches, winning from No. 2 to No. 6 singles positions. Sophomore Ben Vigneri triumphed at No. 2 singles with set scores of 6-2, 6-0. Ryan McCoy claimed victory at No. 3 with sets of 6-0, 6-1. Freshman Thad Dillow won at No. 4 singles with scores of 6-1, 6-4. Zeke Cross took the win at No. 5 singles with sets of 6-3, 6-1, while Griffin Hammond closed out the match with a win at No. 6 after a tiebreaker set.

During their third match within a day against Hampden-Sydney College's Tigers (3-5), Illinois Wesleyan struggled to maintain momentum. Vigneri was the only Titan to secure a set win at No.1 singles by taking his second set with a score of 6-4.

The Titans will take a rest day before facing Ohio Wesleyan University on Thursday, March 14, at approximately 6:30 p.m ET.
