The Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to host Washington University in St. Louis for the IWU Invite on Saturday, November 18. The event will take place at Fort Natatorium, starting at 12:30 p.m.
IWU is entering the competition after a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin dual meet against Augustana College on November 11, where both the men's and women's teams were defeated by the Vikings.
Washington University's squads last participated in the D3 Shootout at the University of Chicago on November 4, securing third place with a total of 446 points. This year, only IWU and Washington University will compete against each other in the IWU Invite.
In previous years, Principia also competed alongside WashU and IWU; however, it has recently discontinued its swimming program. Last year's results saw Washington University finish first in the IWU Invite while IWU placed second in both men's and women's categories.
The collaboration between IWU and WashU is longstanding. Since the 2016-17 season, WashU has been a regular participant at this annual event held before Thanksgiving.
For those unable to attend in person, live coverage of the meet will be available via IWU swimming and diving's official Facebook page. The results will be posted on iwusports.com once the competition concludes.
