The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team secured a narrow 5-4 victory against Central College on Friday night in Bloomington, Illinois. This win improves the Titans' record to 5-1, while Central remains winless at 0-7.

In doubles play, Ian Turnbull and Ryan McCoy achieved an 8-7 (5) win at No. 1 doubles. Thad Dillow and Griffin Hammond contributed with an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles, giving the Titans a lead in the doubles competition.

The Titans claimed three singles victories to clinch the match. Ben Vigneri triumphed after three sets with scores of 7-5, 2-6, and 10-7 at No. 2 singles. Thad Dillow continued his strong performance by winning his match at No. 4 singles with set scores of 6-2 and a tiebreaker of 7-6 (6). Zeke Cross secured the overall win for Illinois Wesleyan by coming back from a set down to win his match at No. 5 singles with scores of 2-6, 6-4, and a decisive third set of 12-10.

Illinois Wesleyan will quickly return to action as they host Greenville University for a match scheduled for noon on Saturday, March 2, at Evergreen Racquet Club. Results will be available on iwusports.com following the match's conclusion.
