The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team is set to face Wheaton College in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match on Saturday, April 27. This game marks the regular season finale for the Titans, who currently hold a record of 9-8 overall and 2-4 in conference play. Prior to the match, seniors Joshua Cortez from Chicago and Jordan Sibley-Diggs from Oak Park will be honored.

The Titans recently faced a tough loss against Carthage College on April 20, with a final score of 9-0. In doubles competition, sophomore Ben Vigneri and junior Zeke Cross were defeated 8-2. Freshman Thad Dillow and sophomore Griffin Hammond also fell by the same score in their doubles match. Vigneri put up a strong fight in his No. 2 singles match but was narrowly defeated with set scores of 7-5 and 7-6.

This upcoming meeting between IWU and Wheaton will be their 42nd encounter since the series began in 1990. Wheaton holds a significant lead with a series record of 37 wins to IWU's four. In their last matchup on April 1, 2023, Wheaton emerged victorious with an 8-1 win. The sole victory for IWU came from Ian Turnbull at No. 1 singles.

Wheaton enters this contest with an overall record of 12-6 and is currently at 2-3 in CCIW play. Their most recent game resulted in an 8-1 loss to North Central College on April 24.
