The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team is set to host Augustana College for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match on Sunday, March 24. The game will begin at 3 p.m. at the Shirk Center and marks the Titans' first-ever Senior Day.
Nine seniors will be honored before the match: Bradley Benson, Michael Eastman, Blake McGlashan-Bryant, KJ Johnson, Adam Blackmore, Michael Anderson, Julian Perez, Alec Mucha, Javier Romano, along with Vic Gomez who graduated early in December.
Illinois Wesleyan currently holds a record of 10-11 overall and 1-5 in conference play. They are coming off a three-set loss to Loras College on March 20. In that match, Eastman led with nine kills while Vince DiCosola recorded team-highs of 15 assists and four digs.
Eastman leads the Titans this season with 209 kills on a .266 attack percentage and averages 3.22 kills per set. Freshman Bryce Williams follows with 149 kills averaging 2.37 per set. Jake Kougan ranks third with 102 kills. Eastman also has a team-high of 23 aces.
DiCosola has been pivotal in orchestrating the offense with a total of 324 assists this season while freshman Brenden Reutter has contributed significantly with 260 assists.
Defensively, Jace Milka leads with an average of 2.44 digs per set totaling 173 digs this season. At the net, Kougan leads with 44 blocks followed by Romano's close tally of 40 blocks.
This upcoming match against Augustana will be their eighth meeting historically. The Vikings won their last encounter in four sets on March 6. Williams had nine kills in that match while DiCosola provided a team-best of 17 assists.
Augustana enters Sunday's game after sweeping North Central College on March 20.
