Illinois Wesleyan University's men's basketball team is set to face North Park University on Wednesday, January 8. This match marks the end of a four-game road trip for Illinois Wesleyan and will take place at NPU Gymnasium in Chicago. The Titans hold an 11-2 overall record and are currently ranked seventh nationally, with a 3-1 standing in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). North Park leads the CCIW with a 4-0 record after their recent victory over Carthage College.

The Titans recently achieved an overtime win against Wheaton College on January 4. During this game, Nick Roper delivered an outstanding performance by scoring a career-high of 26 points alongside ten rebounds, securing his first double-double of the season. "Roper hit the game-tying three-pointer to send the game to OT before scoring the first bucket of the extra period to propel IWU to the win."

In addition to Roper's contributions, seniors Harrison Wilmsen and Marko Anderson have been instrumental in Illinois Wesleyan's success this season. Together they average 17.4 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. Anderson is recognized as IWU's top rebounder with 6.5 boards per game.

Illinois Wesleyan holds a historical advantage over North Park with a series record of 93-36 since their initial meeting in the 1961-62 season. However, recent encounters have been more balanced, with each team winning two out of their last four matchups.

The upcoming clash will also test Illinois Wesleyan's defense which ranks among Division III's best, allowing opponents only a field goal percentage of 38%. Head coach Ron Rose continues his tenure leading his alma mater into this crucial conference matchup.
