The Illinois State women's tennis team is set to conclude their regular season with a match against Belmont inside the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington on Friday, April 18. The Illinois State team, currently holding a 12-7 overall record and 5-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference, will face off against the Belmont Bruins, who stand at 5-13 overall and 4-2 in conference play. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Before the match, Illinois State will honor graduate student Elena Jankulovska from Skopje, Macedonia, for her five years of contribution to the women's tennis program as part of the Senior Day celebrations.
In their last outing, Illinois State fell to UIC by a score of 5-2 at the XS Tennis Village. The team managed to secure the doubles point with victories from the pairings of Lana Caculovic and Silvia Pomarolli, and Emma Lindh and Elena Jankulovska. In singles play, Silvia Pomarolli picked up a win against UIC's Edit Cosmo.
The visiting Belmont Bruins come into the match following a 5-2 win over Missouri State, with Aly Getty and Anastasiya Zholdakova leading their doubles efforts. Zholdakova also secured a singles victory by defeating Tuana Gunal of Missouri State.
Following this match, Illinois State is set to travel to Valparaiso, Indiana, to participate in the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Championships beginning on April 26.
