The Illinois Wesleyan University women's cross country team has qualified two athletes for the NCAA National Championships following impressive performances at the Division III Midwest Regionals. Sophomore Crabtree and junior Chudy secured their spots in the upcoming national event scheduled for November 18 in Newville, Pennsylvania.
Crabtree achieved a 21st-place finish with a time of 22:12.8 over the six-kilometer course. Chudy finished in 25th place, recording a personal-best time of 22:19.3. Both runners earned All-Region honors due to their performances.
Chudy makes history as the first Titan to qualify for the national championships individually in consecutive years. She previously finished in 96th place at last year's championship, marking her as the first IWU sophomore to reach this level. Meanwhile, Crabtree is set to make her debut at the NCAA Championships during her sophomore year.
The championship race will take place at Big Spring High School, hosted by Dickinson College. The women's competition will start at noon Eastern Standard Time, following the men's race at 11 a.m.
