The Illinois Wesleyan University women's cross country team celebrated a significant achievement as sophomore Crabtree was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week. This marks the first time this season that an athlete from Illinois Wesleyan has received this recognition. The announcement was made by the league office on Tuesday, October 17.
Crabtree achieved a personal milestone by improving her best time by an entire minute. She completed the six-kilometer course at Augustana College's Interregional Invitational in 21:56.8, securing 12th place among 394 competitors. This performance currently stands as the fastest time in the CCIW.
Crabtree is noted for being the first athlete from Illinois Wesleyan to earn this honor since Rebekah Harden received it twice in 2021.
Looking ahead, Crabtree and her team are preparing for the upcoming CCIW Championship race, scheduled for Saturday, October 28 at St. James Farm in Warrenville, Illinois. North Central College will host the conference meet.
