Will Troy delivered an even-par 72 in the final round of the Leadership and Golf Collegiate Championship, securing a spot for the Redbirds in the team standings. The event took place at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course in Seaside, California.
Pacific emerged victorious with a total score of 855 after a strong final-round performance. BYU followed with 860, and Sam Houston secured third place with 865. Other teams finishing ahead of the Redbirds included Loyola Marymount (866), Santa Clara (871), Saint Mary's (871), San Francisco (875), Nevada (881), Seattle (883), UC Irvine (893), and Sacramento State (898). The Redbirds completed their rounds with a score of 908, surpassing UC Santa Barbara's 909 and Cal Baptist's 912.
Troy began his round with a birdie but encountered four bogeys over six holes, pushing his score to three over par. However, he recovered with three birdies and eight pars over the last 11 holes to finish at even par, tying for 40th overall.
Alex McCulla finished his tournament with a final-round score of 79, which included three birdies and five pars, placing him tied for 56th. Francis Bautista participated as an individual player and recorded a final-round score of 78 to tie for 63rd place.
TJ Barger had his best performance in the final round with a score of 73, including four birdies and nine pars, ending up tied for 69th overall. Pietro Pontiggia finished at position 71st after shooting an eagle during his last round which ended at an overall score of 232. Aiden Cudney completed the tournament one stroke behind Pontiggia at position number 73rd.
The Redbirds are set to resume competition on February 17 when they travel to Laredo, Texas for the Border Olympics hosted by the University of Houston.
