Illinois State University's freshman golfer, Jessica Jolly, has been recognized as the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Golfer of the Week following her performance at The Clash at Boulder Creek. This is Jolly's first time receiving this honor, making her the third Redbird to achieve this recognition during the fall season. Her teammates Jinyoung Yun and Morgan Jones previously shared the award after the Redbird Invitational.
Jolly's achievement was marked by three consecutive rounds of 70, tying for the third-lowest single-round scores for a freshman in Illinois State history. Her overall score of 210 across 54 holes surpassed the previous freshman record by eight strokes and tied for the fourth-lowest tournament score in program history.
This season, Jolly is averaging 73.7 strokes per round and holds an individual Clippd ranking of 581, placing her sixth in the MVC and fourth on her team. She has secured two top-10 finishes out of four tournaments, with five out of eleven rounds at or below par.
The Clash at Boulder Creek concluded ISU's fall golf season. The team will resume competition at the Sea Best Intercollegiate on January 27 and 28 in Jacksonville, Florida.
