Illinois Wesleyan volleyball faces Carroll for CCIW championship

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team is set to compete against Carroll University in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) finale on Tuesday night, October 29. The match will take place at Van Male Fieldhouse, starting at 7 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan holds an 18-6 overall record and remains undefeated in conference play with a 7-0 standing. The team recently secured two victories at the IWU Classic on October 26, defeating Simpson College and Albion College. Notable performances from juniors Hannah Tellor and Taylor French earned them spots on the all-tournament team.

Taylor French leads the team's offense with 371 kills, ranking her 14th nationally in Division III. She also ranks in the top-15 for points, points per set, and aces. Hannah Tellor follows with 193 kills, while freshman Alex Bardouniotis has contributed 184 kills this season.

Sophomore Sophia Feeney leads in assists with a total of 388, followed by senior Abby Erdman with 297 and fifth-year Jordan Pierce with 227 assists. Defensively, junior Kannyn Boyd has achieved a team-high of 373 digs this season.

The upcoming match marks the eleventh meeting between Illinois Wesleyan and Carroll University since their first encounter in 1995. Illinois Wesleyan holds a strong advantage with nine wins out of ten matches against Carroll.

Carroll University enters the match with an overall record of 18-11 and a CCIW record of 1-4 after losing to Wheaton College on October 23.
