Illinois State coaches' show airs live from BloNo Pizza Co tonight

The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Show, sponsored by The O'Brien Auto Team, will be broadcast live from BloNo Pizza Co. in Normal tonight. The show will feature Illinois State's head men's basketball coach Ryan Pedon and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie.

Fans who cannot attend can listen to the broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM, the Varsity Network, and GoRedbirds.com. Pedon and Gillespie will discuss their recent exhibition games and upcoming matchups.

The segment with head women's basketball coach Kristen Gillespie begins at 6 p.m., hosted by Greg Halbleib. She will be joined by ISU graduate student Maya Wong, who is entering her fifth season with the Redbirds. Wong has scored 1,067 points during her career at Illinois State and was named to the Preseason All-MVC Second Team after leading her team with 142 assists last season.

Illinois State's women's basketball team concluded last season with a record of 22-12 overall and 13-7 in MVC play. They recently won an exhibition game against Illinois Wesleyan Titans with a score of 101-86. Key contributors were Shannon Dowell with 23 points, Nevaeh Thomas with 22 points, and Addison Martin adding 18 points. Their regular season starts with road games against Northwestern on November 6 and Saint Louis on November 12.

Following Gillespie's segment at 6:45 p.m., men's basketball coach Ryan Pedon will appear on the show hosted by John Fitzgerald and Mike Matthews. Pedon will be accompanied by redshirt junior guard Landon Wolf, who transferred from Northern Iowa to Illinois State this year. Wolf was part of the MVC All-Bench Team last season.

The men's team finished last season with a record of 15-17 overall and a conference record of 9-11. They secured a win against Lewis Flyers in their latest exhibition game, where Wolf scored a game-high of 18 points for the Redbirds. Johnny Kinziger added 13 points, Dalton Banks scored 11, and Malachi Poindexter contributed another ten points. Their regular season opener is scheduled for November 4 against UT Martin Skyhawks at CEFCU Arena.

BloNo Pizza Co., located at 1304 Cross Creek Drive in Normal, Illinois, invites fans to watch the show live or tune into various platforms if unable to attend in person.
