Illinois State swimming heads to Carbondale for tri-meet with Illini and Salukis

The Illinois State Swimming and Diving team is set to compete in a tri-meet against Southern Illinois and the University of Illinois. The event will take place at the Shea Natatorium on Southern Illinois University's campus in Carbondale, beginning Friday, November 1, at 2 p.m. The Redbirds will participate in 16 swimming events along with the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. They will also compete in the 200 medley and 400 free relay.

In their previous outing, Illinois State saw notable performances including Chloe Tyler, Sydney Hoff, Mia Snow, and Emma Feltzer securing a second-place finish in the 200-yard Medley Relay. Emma Thompson achieved a top-five finish in the 1-meter dive.

The University of Illinois Fighting Illini recently excelled in a tri-meet against Indiana State and Vanderbilt. Chloe Diner recorded a top-10 program finish in the 200 breaststroke, while Elle Cristomo won the three-meter diving title.

Southern Illinois also showed strong results last week against UIC with Olivia Herron breaking school records in multiple events. Farida Moussa led on the boards with her performance on the 1-meter board.

Following this meet, Illinois State will travel to Purdue for an invitational on November 21 before heading to Greensboro for the US Open on December 4.
